Watching the Scottish News on TV and it would seem that £300,000 has been allocated to cut the bottom off classroom doors to increase ventilation. Seriously?!! Is that really necessary? When will all this Covid madness end?

Off to North Berwick with the girlies for a weekend away. There's four of us. Not sure if we should really all be staying in an apartment together because as we're all single and live alone, that's four households and I think the three household rule still applies indoors. But who cares, is anyone bothering to follow the rules any more?

What a lovely day I've had in North Berwick with my friends.................. walking on the beaches, shopping, eating and drinking. Just what we would be doing in normal times.

Had a lovely weekend away with the girls in North Berwick. Perhaps life is getting back to normal after all. Having said that, it will never feel normal until we can stop wearing masks. If England can get rid of them, why can't Scotland?

Watching the News. Government restrictions to end and people to take 'personal responsibility'. About time too. This has gone on for long enough. If people are too scared to go out, then they have the option to stay in. Having said that the 'News' always seems to refer to England.

Here in Scotland, who knows what's going to happen. I don't even know when Nicola is due to do her next update. To be honest I don't really care because she's definitely not going to release us at the same time as England. If Nicola has her way she'll be making us wear masks and self isolating for the rest of our lives.

All restrictions in England are being lifted today. Ie, no more masks, no more self-isolating, no more anything. We've lived with these restrictions for one year and eleven months, and here in Scotland we're still living with them. I will never understand the reasoning behind England, Scotland and Wales all doing their 'own thing'. Covid doesn't know which country it's in. It's not going to spread any quicker or slower in Carlisle or Gretna Green is it?

There's talk that restrictions in Scotland may be lifted in three weeks time, but I don't actually know if that's fact, rumour or just wishful thinking?!

Feeling a bit under the weather this evening so I thought I'd better do a LFT. Negative. Phew! When do you think we'll all stop being so paranoid that one little sniffle means we've got a deadly disease?

Thursday 5th March 2020 How many other people think that the UK has gone into a mad meltdown over this Coronavirus thing? The shelves in Edinburgh shops are totally devoid of anti-bacterial hand-wash and loads of other stuff. Obviously it's a massive world wide problem, but seriously...................  June 2020 Monday 1 June 2020 Took the car for a run on the bypass today. For the last couple of months it's hardly been out of third gear. I went to Musselburgh to walk Trixie, but that was definitely breaking the rules?! It's 6 miles to Musselburgh via the direct route, but 30 mins to get there. Or 11 miles on the bypass, but only 20 mins to get there. Here in Scotland we're still only allowed to drive 5 miles for leisure. Oh well, ho hum, who's going to know? Unfortunately everybody else seems to be breaking the rules and now the news is full of Nicola Sturgeon saying that if people don't abide by the rules, then she will make the 5 mile rule law! I really don't understand how it is OK for people in England to drive where they want as long as they return home in the same day. But, it's not OK for people in Scotland to do that. INTRODUCTION My whole life changed the minute that Boris (the UK Prime Minister) said, on Monday 23 March 2020 , 'You must stay at home'.
